The Lonesome Dove~Comanche Moon~Great Trails map is taken directly from the descriptions in the epic novels of Larry McMurtry in the period 1855-1885. In addition to the drive and travel routes, the major events and places of both books are detailed in notes.  This map is very helpful for those reading the novels or watching the TV mini-series. To give more context, the Chisholm, Western, Goodnight-Loving & Shawnee Trails are also shown in detail.

Texas Cattle L.jpg

The 1876 Great Texas Cattle Trails map shows all the great cattle trails up through Texas, Indian Territory & New Mexico at their peak. The Chisholm or McCoy Trail, the  great Western or Dodge City Trail, the Goodnight-Loving and the earlier Shawnee Trail. The 1862 Butterfield Overland Stage line is shown as are the emigrant wagon trails & western frontier forts of the period. Includes Horsehead & Doan’s Crossing & Red River Station. Very highly detailed.

The maps shown are just a few of the hundreds of Texas, Indian Territory and Western reproduction map prints made. With a few exceptions, all prints are from high resolution 1:1 scans of original antique maps in the Electric Books Collection.

These maps are printed on very heavy parchment cover stock in either 24” x 36” or 18” x 24” sheet sizes. They are matted and framed in a western frame with conchos.

The 1837 Texas ~ Austin-Tanner maps was done originally by Stephen F. Austin. It shows the original Land Patent Owners.
